Production Artist Graphic Designer for Marching Band Uniform

POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this role translates design concepts into production-ready artwork for marching band uniforms and accessories. Working under strict deadlines, the position ensures all graphics meet technical specifications, color standards, and production requirements while supporting consistent, high-quality output across large production runs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Convert design concepts, sketches, and layouts into production-ready garment graphics for marching band uniforms and accessories.
2. Create and edit vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for apparel printing.
3. Prepare and format artwork files according to production templates and printer specifications, and production standards.
4. Ensure accuracy of color modes, scaling, placement, and color matching (PMS, CMYK, RGB).
5. Maintain consistency of designs across multiple sizes and large production runs
6. Perform quality control checks on artwork prior to submission to printers to ensure accuracy and print readiness.
7. Collaborate with designers and production partners to review samples, troubleshoot issues, and implement revisions.
8. Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
9. Maintain regular, reliable attendance to support production schedules
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
1. Source and incorporate assets from approved libraries (e.g., Shutterstock, Adobe Stock).
2. Create continuous and repeat print files and adjust artwork for garment sizing and placement.
3. Maintain organized, layered files and consistent file naming conventions.

4. Convert approved strike-offs into finalized production files.
5. Track project status and update internal production systems or databases.
6. Provides cross-functional support during peak seasonal production peri9ods
7. Performs other duties as assigned
Education / Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent GED, trade school etc. required
· 3–5 years of relevant experience in production art, technical design, graphic design, apparel graphics, or a closely related field
· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Knowledge of vector artwork and technical file preparation
· Understanding of color systems including PMS, CMYK, and RGB and color matching for team/school branding
· Ability to interpret and translate design concepts into production-ready artwork
· Strong organizational and file management skills
· Strong attention to detail, especially for alignment and consistency across garments
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
· Effective communication, and teamwork skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Prolonged periods working at a computer workstation
· Ability to accurately distinguish colors(red, green, amber)
· Repetitive hand and wrist movements (keyboard and mouse use)
· Digital dexterity necessary to work on Adobe, mouse or iPads
· Ability to view and evaluate digital artwork for extended periods
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds
· Occasional bending, reaching, pushing and pulling
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 4-5 years’ experience in apparel graphic design or print production workflows
· Experience with sublimation or digital textile printing
· Experience in uniform, athletic apparel, or performance wear production
· Experience preparing artwork for large-scale or batch production
